Prayer Guide
What is Prayer?
Prayer is simple communication with God. Prayer comes from the heart. It is a time to praise and thank God for all things. It is an outpouring of love to the Father. Prayer involves being humble and sincere before God. Our words must speak the truth to God asking for anything we need from our Father believing that we will receive it by 'faith'.
What is Faith?
Faith is believing in what you do not see. Faith requires us to depend on God's word given to us (the bible and all its promises) to come to pass in our lives. Faith requires us to be patient and not to be anxious for anything but to trust God and wait on His perfect timing in our lives. Faith requires us to believe 1) that our heavenly Father heard our prayers 2) that we believe what we said in our hearts and 3) that we 'see it' in the spirit realm before it comes to pass in
the natural.
Hebrews 11 states in verses 1 and 6
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe
that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. NKJV
How must I pray?
The bible instructs us to pray according to Matthew 6 as Jesus teaches his disciples:
5 And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing
in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men.
Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to
your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward
you openly.
7 But when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that
they will be heard for their many words.
8 Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of
before you ask Him.
9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the
kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. NKJV
Pray in a manner that
is comfortable for you.
Prayer is personal
communication
between you and God
only.
No one has approve of
your prayer. Always be
open and honest with
God because He already
knows what you will say
before you say it. God
desires to hear from
you!
God desires to know
that we love Him and
are willing to trust and
obey Him. God desires
to know that we are
living for His purposes
and He is Lord of our
lives.
If you have never
prayed before, start
praying today…a few
words or many words
it does not matter
because God hears
them all. He is most
interested in what is in
your heart.
Then watch your
relationship start to
blossom with the
Father.
If you don't know
where to start, begin by
reciting the Lord's
Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13).
Prayer - You make it
simple with thanksgiving,
sincerity from your heart
and love for the Father!
